The One Villa, Seminyak
Bali is the perfect place for an amazing stay in a villa. We wanted something comfortable for the first nights, after our long flight from Amsterdam. The amount of villas in Seminyak is huge, so choosing the right one took me some time. After a lot of googling, comparing, reading reviews and checking availability, I found The One Villa.
Never before have I slept in this luxury. Wow! We have our own pool, an open air bathroom and a dream bed. After a refreshing morning swim, we enjoy breakfast ín the villa, which is prepared right in front of us, like we’re royalty…You can choose an English, American, Indonesian or Continental breakfast, or just tell them what you like and they will make it for you!
The One Villa is close to a lot of great restaurants & shops, like my favorite restaurant Sardine, high tea spot Biku & the beautysalon by Rob Peetoom. Rent a scooter, buy some gasoline in a vodka bottle and go explore! If you’re a little lazy, that’s what holidays are all about, you can ask a driver at the villas, to bring you to your restaurant and pick you up when you’re finished. All for free. But please tip the driver, they don’t get paid much in Bali.
For a longer roadtrip, it’s a better idea to ask a driver from outside the resort. There are a lot of great drivers, who will drive you everywhere for just $50 a day. Most people, who have visited Bali, can recommend one. These drivers are very thankful for the work you offer them, since most resorts have their own drivers nowadays and steel away a lot of work. Visit Uluwatu to watch the surfers, visit the temple & eat the catch of the day on the beach of Jimbaran. Here you can eat a full plate of fresh lobster, clams & prawns for just $6 including a drink.
You pay a bit more than you would for a standard hotel, but The One Villa is more than worth it! What an amazing place, beautiful design, friendly staff, clean and cosy. I hope to be back some day!
