Amsterdam, there’s a new hotspot in town! Last week I visited Brooks Amsterdam for the first time. The name may ring a bell; Brooks is a well known hotel, but the owners recently opened their beautiful, new restaurant. Interior crush to the max! The pretty tiles remind me of the original, artistic Azulejos in Portugal & the giant, impressive head of a moose is the highlight of the unique interior. He must be hungry, looking at all the tasty food that is served under his nose… Hopefully they serve him the leftovers after closing time..
Brooks Amsterdam serves no nonsense comfort food & guilty pleasures, prepared at its best. My kind of place! On the menu you find options like a Classic Burger with bacon & Cheddar cheese, a Steak Bavette, Chorizo Duck and good old Fish & Chips. The Brookies are supposed to be for the kids, but, even though the portions are quite small, they’re definitely worth a try!
We loved the bread with olive oil, sea salt and special shallot butter. Never tried that before!
The Asian Fish Cakes with fresh apple are a light, tasty appetizer and I loved the delicious, creamy Truffle Risotto. I’m a sucker for everything that includes the word “truffle”, just so you know. We also tried a Brookie: the Sticky Chicken and absolutely loved it! The sweet chicken is very addictive, so be warned… Try the Viognier! The dessert, a Tropical Triffle, was a little bit too sweet and big for us, but we had an amazing night.
Brooks Amsterdam has some delicious breakfast & lunch options too, like a Berry Bowl and Mexican Style Eggs. So I’ll be back soon:-) Click HERE to check out the full menu.
