Yessss it is almost weekend! What to do in Amsterdam? My fear of FOMO is always present and that’s why I make lists of favorite spots to go to. Such a nerd. These are my weekend favorites for this week! Cosy up by a warm fire, sip on a Salty Caramel cocktail, try some delicious Dirty Chicken en hop from one beautiful cocktail bar to the next… Cheers!
1. Restaurant Jansz.
This beautiful restaurant of the Pulitzer Hotel has a brand new menu! Try the soft scallops that look like a piece of art and the delicious crispy tuna tartare… After dinner I would highly recommend trying a dangerous cocktail (or two) in one of the best cocktail bars in the city: Pulitzer’s Bar! And the best thing about it: you will not have to go outside to get there;-).
Check THIS post I wrote about restaurant Jansz. right after the opening in 2016.
2. The Harbour Club
With a second location in the south of Amsterdam, The Harbour Club keeps expanding. We were invited to try the new menu at the location in Amsterdam East and absolutely loved the colorful dishes. Try the beautiful sea bass ceviche and the super fresh sashimi! The G&T’s are pure Instagramporn. This place could be on my list of weekend favorites every week.
Cruquiusweg 67, Apollolaan 2
3. The Duchess: the chocolate explosion
Cocktails & dessert in a Michelin star restaurant. Need I say more? This is chocolate heaven in style. Perfect for a girls night out. Make sure your camera is charged, because this is some of the most photogenic chocolate you have ever seen…
4. Thijs by Dikker & Thijs
Pre-dinner drinks & bites! Did you know they make some of the best bruschettas in Amsterdam here. Oh, and don’t miss out on the oysters…
5. Arriba Arriba
New Mexican hotspot at the Rozengracht! Run by the owners of popular restaurant Happyhappyjoyjoy. South American streetfood, ice cold Margaritas and a very colorful interior that will lighten up any mood you were in. You will almost forget it is -10 degrees outside!
6. The Dirty Chicken Club
Funky street-art, freak shakes, tasty cocktails, fresh beers and a looooot of Dirty Chicken! Have some Korean Bao Buns, Tom Ka Kai soup, roasted chicken European style and crispy fries . I love the little corners where you can attack that tender chicken with a fork & knife like you are in an episode of Game of Thrones and nobody will watch you go for it…
7. Sorel’s Bar: Nespresso Bespoke cocktails on friday
The Marriot Hotel, close to Leidseplein, has a great cocktail bar and they serve some creative coffee cocktails by Nespresso! Ever tried a Salty Caramel cocktail before? I loved the Dark & Stormy Roast too! Because, let’s be honest, just a plain old capuchino after dinner is a little boring.. Great place to start your friday night.
PS: The Amsterdam Cocktail Week starts the 5th of March untill the 11th of March, right after this weekend. Visit some of my favorite cocktail bars: Twenty Seven, Pulitzer’s Bar, Hiding in Plain Sight, Brecht, Vesper Bar, Lion Noir, Panache, 5&33, Henry’s Bar, Tales & Spirits en The Tailor! This year, they also serve some delicious alcohol free cocktails. Ask for the ones with Seedlip in them. They serve these at TwentySeven and Sorel’s Bar. So good!
