The Hoxton is the new urban hotspot in Amsterdam. Even if you don’t stay here, it is a great spot for an afternoon of Latte & Laptop, wine, cocktails or a long brunch/ dinner! The interior with the blue barstools, the yellow Chesterfield couches and the visible raw brickstones make you feel like you’re in an urban New York venue! After we have checked into our room, we’re ready for dinner at Lotti’s Bar & Grill downstairs. The restaurant has a huge open roof! Wow!

On the menu you find seasonal Italian dishes and even though the list isn’t that long, it is very difficult to pick something. There’s bread with olive oil & balsamic to start with. I order the ‘Seabass Crudo’ and my friend the ‘Burrata’ as a starter. Good choice! The ‘Seabass Crudo’ is light & fresh and my friend loves her ‘Burrata’!

My main course is meat: ‘Lamb cutlets with minted garden peas’. The meat is very tender and perfectly seasoned. I love the combination with the soft minted peas! I hear a lot om ‘mmmm’ sounds from across the table so the ‘Grilled vegetables with Halloumi’ are well worth trying too!

My favorite part of dinner is dessert…I just can’t help myself. While we try to choose our guilty pleasure, we see a huge piece of Lemon Pie landing on our neighbor’s table and that ends our thinking immediately! Yummmm! I’m so inspired by this heavenly pie, that I go a little Pinterest crazy at home, pinning every single Lemon Pie recipe I can possible find.

We end our culinary evening with a tasty Clover Club & an Elderflower/ Cucumber G&T and that makes it official: The Hoxton & Lotti’s are two of the best new urban additions to Amsterdam in 2015. ♥ Go see, try & taste it for yourself!
