Shopping in Amsterdam: the Utrechtsestraat

December is the busiest month of the year for shopping because of the holidays. That’s why I would like to highlight one of my favorite streets in Amsterdam: the Utrechtsestraat. Divine chocolates, unique interior design, beautiful fashion labels, the best Dutch cheese and cosy coffee bars & restaurants; the Utrechtsestraat has it all! Shopping in Amsterdam! These are my favorite spots:

Shopping in Amsterdam – Utrechtsestraat

Maison NL: My favorite concept store with unique items for your home & clothes by Scandinavian brands like Mads Nørgaard & Rabens. I never leave this store without buying something. They’ve recently opened a webshop too & ship all over the world…

Samøe & Samsøe: Fashion from Copenhagen with the best basics. Yes please!

Bolia: Scandinavian design for your home with a twist.

We Are Labels: collection of high quality fashion labels.

Silver Portraits: original, unique portraits, like you have never seen before...

Geiten Wollen Winkel: it is all about sustainability at this store and it’s everything but boring!

De Gouden Ton: THE place for a good bottle of wine or champagne.

Mobilia: give your interior a boost and be inspired by all the beautiful items at this store.

Sissy Boy: Dangerous…I can’t help myself and always buy more interior items & pretty clothes than I needed… Enter at your own risk!

Essentiel: this brand started out with t-shirts, but has become a full grown stylish fashion label from Belgium.

Jan: good place to buy presents for others, that you end up keeping yourself.

A la Cart: travel bookshop for inspiration…

Coffee/ breakfast/ lunch – Shopping in Amsterdam

  1. Zuivere Koffie: cosy small living room with Sammie the cat. You can find me here drinking my morning coffee & trying not to crumble my warm croissant all over myself.
  2. De Koffiesalon: 2 words: CINNAMON CROISSANT.. and of course the amazing coffee!
  3. De Huyschkaemer: an Amsterdam living room with a beautiful terrace in the summer.
  4. Toon: this cosy spot is also a hotel!
  5. Lite/ Dark: urban & healthy options.

Dinner Utrechtsestraat

  1. Guts & Glory: every half year, there is a new theme on the menu, based on one animal! Special place & highly recommended restaurant.
  2. Hummbar: lobster & burgerbar with delicious cocktails.
  3. Pata Negra: tasty tapas in a laid back atmosphere.
  4. Ku Kitchen: fingerlicking Japanese food & cocktails.

Groceries Utrechtsestraat

  1. Kaashuis Tromp: I visit this store almost every week for the truffle cheese… Need I say more?
  2. Patisserie Kuyt: the pastries look like pieces of art and people come from all over Amsterdam & beyond to visit this place.
  3. Chocolatier van Soest: the best chocolate in Amsterdam. In the summer they have delicious ice cream too and toppings like crackling sugar. CRACKLING SUGAR!
  4. Slagerij de Leeuw: this butcher is known for excellent quality and years & years of the best service.
  5. Marqt: favorite supermarket with mostly organic products with a twist. How about some typical Dutch stroopwaffles with caramel, vanilla & sea salt? Yummm!
