1. Meneer Nieges: new menu
To be honest, I have only been to Meneer Nieges in summer time, because they have a huge, comfortable terrace. I live on the other side of the city and the bike ride to get there is quite the work-out. But an invitation to try the new menu at this beautiful spot, made me very curious. Inside the fire warms me up and the candles on the tables are lit. Love the admosphere here! On the menu are the most delicious crispy Brussels sprouts, with ginger and ponzu, I have ever tasted. I usually don’t like them at all, so wow! The dessert with salted caramel and hazelnut foam can be send to my home in a giant container please… OMG so delicious. I’ll be back soon!

2. BAUT Spaarndammerstraat 460
Yessss the moment is finally here: the new BAUT, located in an old chapel, is opening for the public this weekend! I tried the menu and had a sneak peek of the AMAZING interior! I can safely say: it will blow your wildest expectations… BAUT’s latest edition is all about a ‘rebel mix of food, drinks, art, culture and music’. Have you ever seen a bed in a restaurant before?

3. Winehouse Somm
A hidden gem in the Baarsjes, an area in the westside of Amsterdam. Winehouse Somm serves wines that are produced with respect for nature. The owner & chef used to work at Michelin star restaurant Beluga ** in Maastricht, with Gordon Ramsey in London and at Michelin star restaurant Bord’Eau** in Amsterdam. So it is no surprise that the food is refined & creative. My favorite dish of the evening is the duck with reduced sherry vinegar, Muscat grapes and pistou… They serve pairing wines with every dish. The choices are daring and will pleasantly surprise you! Oh, and they have a looot of delicious cheeses to try too!

4. Café de Tropen
Café de Tropen is an excellent spot to start the night! They serve high quality wines, tasty cocktails and delicious, original bar bites. Try the famous Dutch ‘bitterballen’ with Peking Duck or the Vegan Broccoli Bites. Cheers!

5. PEEJAYS Doughnuts
Oops.. too many drinks last night..? Nothing takes better care of a hangover like comfort food in the morning. Try a heavenly, homemade, sea salt & caramel doughnut or a bold cheesecake doughnut for breakfast! PEEJAYS also has vegan options! And the best thing about it all: you can have them to go. So crash on your couch, switch up the heater, wrap yourself in your favorite Snuggie and enjoy!

6. Temakery
Take out doesn’t have to be a ‘guilty pleasure’ like pizza or burgers. Temakery serves some delicious & fresh poké bowls, handrolls, sushi wraps and streetfood. Ok, the crispy double bao bun or the Korean wings are not the healthiest, but yummmm. You can order all these dishes through Deliveroo, Foodora, Uber Eats & Thuisbezorgd.
