weekend tips for amsterdam8 x weekend tips for Amsterdam/ 5&33

1. Lobster Thursday – 5&33
Every thursday 5&33 is the place to be for a delicious lobster fest! And although this is not officially the weekend yet, it deserves a spot on the list! The price of a 2-course-menu including a glass of bubbles is €35. 5&33 is a cosy spot, where they serve dangerously good cocktails and where the fire is always on. While you enjoy your lobster pasta al dente, you listen to Drake & Raphael Saadiq! Great spot for a date…

2. Nomads – New menu
Restaurant Nomads changes the menu every 6 weeks to a new worldly cuisine. The brand new menu, that was launched this month, is inspired by the Portuguese kitchen! The bread with seaweed butter is great start! Try the authentic cod croquettes and the delicious asparagus. Do not leave the restaurant before tasting the warm, divine Pasteis de Nata!

3. Super Lyan – Kimpton de Witt
At this beautiful all day hangout you can sit down with a good cup of coffee, a vegan donut and enjoy the pretty covered courtyard. But the real highlights of this newy are the creative cocktails! Try the Millionaire Shake with soy milk, chocolate sorbet, pomegranate, Maker’s Mark Bourbon with Dry Curaçao and fennel pollen… Confused? Go try it! You’ll love it. The interior is highly Instagrammable too!

4. Taiko – VEGAN OMAKASE – Conservatorium Hotel
The upcoming three months the prestigious restaurant of the Conservatorium Hotel, Taiko, run by chef Schilo van Coevorden, will serve an impressive VEGAN OMAKASE menu. During this 9-course-dinner you will enjoy fresh Dutch products, with a unique Asian twist. My favorites on the creative menu are the Seaweed Pizza and the delicious Sea Kale with Algae emulsion & Potato! The Baked Bao Bun is finger linkin’ good too! The price for this food fest is €85. Spoil yourself! More about this dinner will be up on the blog soon…

5. Pause – Pulitzer Hotel
This classy hangout has a new all day breakfast menu! Sit down on one of the soft, green, velvet chairs and try the Poached Eggs with Hash Brown, my personal favorite, or the sweet pancakes with red fruits. On sunny days you can sit outside in the beautiful courtyard, where you forget that you are in the heart of busy Amsterdam. Click HERE for the full blogpost about Pause, that I wrote a while back…

6. The Lemonman – NENI
I recently discovered that NENI is not only a restaurant with delicious food, but also has a bar! Upstairs you find The Lemonman. This bar is named after Citroën, the former owner of this building. The restaurant & bar used to be a Citroën garage! On the drinks menu you will find a lot of tasty lemon and citrus cocktails and a special lemon brandy… Click HERE for the full menu. Cheers!

7. Bar Fisk x Plastic Soup Foundation
Bar Fisk is one of my favorite hangouts in Amsterdam. They started a collaboration with the Plastic Soup Foundation to help them fight against plastic in our oceans. For 5 euros, you can buy a lottery ticket and win cool Bar Fisk prices or custom art work by Studio Fish. Your 5 euros is donated to the Plastic Soup Foundation. Also, when you order a Fizzy Bubblech or Colonial Negroni cocktail, untill the end of September, 1 euro will go to the foundation. Love it!

8. Groovy Tables X HoogtIJ
Pssst, Groovy Tables is coming soon… Last year this was one of my favorite rooftop events in Amsterdam! At HoogtIJ, in the North of Amsterdam, ‘de Artiesten’ will collaborate with one of my favorite restaurants in the city: Restaurant Daalder. This is going to be an amazing culinary event! Guests will enjoy live music & romantic acts on a very high level, literally! The talented chefs of Restaurant Daalder will create a delicious 6-course-dinner… and after dinner you can dance under the stars, because a DJ will take over! I would highly recommend booking a table as soon as possible, because last year they were fully booked! Make your reservation HERE!
