Top 10 World’s Safest Airlines

A lot has happened last year. The news was filled with missing planes and crashes. It almost seems like there is an increase in accidents. Website Airlineratings.com investigated 449 airlines. They looked at the history of incidents & accidents and fatality records. Due to the outcome, they awarded them with one to seven stars. One for the ones you only want to board when you’re on a suicide mission and seven for the safest flights on the planet.

safest airlines

These are the Winners. The Safest Airlines are:

1. Qantas (wins for the second time)
2. Air New Zealand
3. British Airways
4. Emirates
5. Singapore Airlines
6. Cathay Pacific Airways
7. Etihad Airways
8. Lufthansa
9. Finnair
10. EVA Air

The 10 safest budget airlines are:

1. Aer Lingus
2. Alaska Airlines
3. Icelander
4. Jetblue
5. Kulula.com
6. Jetstar
7. TUI Fly
8. Westjet
9. Thomas Cook
10. Icelandair

I’d rather pay a bit extra for a comfortable safe flight.
Always check all your options before booking a domestic flight in a foreign country. I once flew with LOT Polish Airlines on a domestic flight and the plane almost fell apart when we weren’t even in the air yet. The breaks squeaked at every turn, and the cabinets seemed to come crashing down at every bump. When we landed, we hit the ground so hard, I was glad I still had all my teeth.

There are a couple of airlines, that only received one star..the worst and UNsafe airlines are:

  1. Kam Air
  2. Nepal Airlines
  3. Scat
  4. Tara Air

What do you have to do to only receive ONE star I wonder…
Let’s just say that when you board an airline called Scat aka Poop to Kazakhstan, you don’t really like your life anyway. Flying is still one of the safest ways to travel. I feel a whole lot safer on board of a Boeing, than driving a car through Napels!
Safe Travels!:-)
