Lebua State Tower Hotel, Bangkok
Lebua State Tower Hotel in Bangkok is the most luxurious hotel, I have stayed so far. But it’s actually quite affordable. We found an amazing deal through Booking.com and paid about 90 euros a night, including breakfast! The staff of our Royal Dutch Airlines KLM always stay here, when they fly to Bangkok and I see why..The design is impressive, the rooms are spacious and the view from your private balcony is amazing! And than there’s breakfast…
I have NEVER seen breakfast at a hotel like this. Everything you could possibly think of, you can eat, even sushi! The extensive saladbar and countless options for muesli, nuts and fresh fruits, made my jetlag disappear in an instant. There’s also a really great gym. Most ‘normal’ people on a holiday would probably say I’m crazy, but for me nothing beats a jetlag as fast as a half hour run. The pictures below are from Mozu restaurant, where breakfast is served and you can enjoy an afternoon drink by the pool.
But the real shocker (careful you don’t fall..) comes when you walk out on the rooftop area.
Here you find Sirocco, a romantic rooftop restaurant like I had never seen before. Quite expensive but what a view! There is a band playing at the top and a beautiful round cocktail bar at the end, that changes colour every minute. You can walk around the cocktail bar…not for those afraid of heights!
A great alternative for dinner is Breeze, a few floors down, but also very beautiful. A purple lit pathway leads you to the restaurant. It’s still not cheap of course, but you don’t have to eat at McDonalds every day after receiving the bill..(after Sirocco I would). After dinner, take the elevator back up, for a lovely cocktail!
