Five Leaves New York, Brooklyn
Since the opening in 2008 Five Leaves has become a popular hipster hotspot. It is worth a trip to Brooklyn! The owner had plans to start a cafe with Heath Ledger, who unfortunately passed away to early. But the dream cafe became reality: Five Leaves.
You can enjoy meals throughout the day, from breakfast ‘till late at night, but this place is most famous for its brunch options. How about some truffle fries, steamed mussels in saffron coconut sauce, oysters or ‘Devils on Horsebacks’: bacon wrapped medjool dates, with habanero vincotto & almonds? I started drooling after I read the word ‘truffle’ and it just got worse the more I read…it is so difficult to choose something from this menu, it all looks so good!
Save some room for dessert, that is very important. Try the Rosewater Pavlova with Passionfruit Curd or the Chamomile & Lavender Yogurt Panna Cotta, accompanied by a lovely cocktail. How about a ‘Pirate Booty’ anyone?
The winelist is extensive. They serve my favorite Sauvignon Blanc from the Marlborough wine region in New Zealand, so I couldn’t be happier!
Manhattan is absolutely amazing, but don’t forget to visit Brooklyn & Williamsburg!
Five Leaves doesn’t take reservations, so be prepared to wait a little for a table.
