Amante Beach Club

Hidden amongst the cliffs near Cala Nova, Amante Beach Club is one of those places that stays with you long after you leave the island. Relaxed rather than ostentatious, it attracts a crowd that actually wants to enjoy themselves without performing it for anyone. While gazing out over the Sol d’en Serra bay, you can work your way through a long Mediterranean lunch, a round of champagne cocktails and a juice that makes you feel like a better person. At night, this is one of the most beautiful spots on the island. If you are planning your trip, my Ibiza tips and hidden gems guide covers everything you need to know before you go.

Amante Beach Club: what makes it special

Once a month, the venue hosts a Full Moon Dinner, when you can watch the moon rise directly from the ocean. The kitchen stays open until after midnight, the staff is friendly without being intrusive and the daybeds are the kind of comfortable that makes you question all your plans for the afternoon. The food is very good, with a menu built around Mediterranean dishes made with quality ingredients. Amante is also a popular wedding venue, which tells you something about how beautiful the setting actually is.

Open from the beginning of May until the end of September, from 11:00 until 02:00. Dinner starts at 20:00. Price level is mid-range to high. Reservations are strongly recommended, especially for dinner and the Full Moon evenings.

Open air movie nights at Amante Beach Club

One of the best things you can do on the island is attend an open air movie night at Amante. Wrap yourself in a blanket, settle into a bean bag with a glass of cava and listen to the sound of the ocean while the film plays. The setting is extraordinary, and the combination of the cliffs, the sea and the open sky makes even a mediocre film feel cinematic. Dates are announced in advance on their website. Book early, because these evenings sell out.

Getting to Amante Beach Club

Amante is not in the most obvious location, which is exactly why it is so good. To get there, you need your own transport. The drive down to the beach club is on a narrow winding road and a rental car is essential for exploring this part of the island properly. I always compare rates at Discover Cars, and they upgraded us to a Citroën Cactus the size of a Jeep on our last trip, which turned out to be very useful on the dirt roads leading to hidden beaches nearby. Make sure you book a car that can handle uneven terrain. A 4×4 opens up a completely different version of Ibiza. Read everything you need to know in my article about car rental on Ibiza.

With a Saily eSIM you stay connected from the moment you land, which is useful when you are navigating rural roads and looking up restaurant reservations on the go. Download it before departure and avoid roaming fees entirely.

Activities and day trips from this part of the island

The eastern coast around Cala Nova is one of the quieter parts of Ibiza, and it is worth spending time here beyond just the beach club. Nearby, the sea caves along the coast are best explored by kayak. The Sea and Caves Kayaking Tour with Snorkeling at Cala Codolar is one of the most beautiful things you can do on the island. The caves look calm from the surface, but what is inside is extraordinary.

For a broader overview of the island’s most scenic spots, the Secret Spots Island 4×4 Tour by Land Rover Defender takes you to hidden beaches and viewpoints that most visitors never find. Small group, local knowledge, and roads that your rental car might prefer to avoid. For a slower morning before heading to Amante, the Sunday market in San Juan is worth combining with lunch at The Giri Café afterwards. One of the most charming villages on the island, and the food is very good.

Ending the day on the water is always a good idea. The Ibiza sunset boat party with drinks and food gives you a completely different perspective of the coastline. Watching the sky turn orange over the Mediterranean from the water is one of those Ibiza moments that is very hard to explain to someone who has not done it.

When is Amante Beach Club open?

The price level is mid to high, but the setting and quality justify it. It is not a place for a quick stop; go for a long lunch, a sunset dinner or one of the special events. The Coconut Mojito alone is worth the drive.
