Hotspots Amsterdam: 8 weekend tips!
Finally I am back in my hometown Amsterdam and I discovered a lot of amazing new brunch spots, hot new restaurants, delicious cocktails, brand new bars and crispy pizzas…. These are 8 cool hotspots for your weekend in Amsterdam!
1. Dine at restaurant Beulings / Beulingstraat 9
This restaurant has been on my wishlist for quite some time and because of the inspiring Female Winemakers lunch, my wish came true. We tried some delicious Pays d’Oc ICP wines! My favorites were the Château de Gourgazaud, Viognier 2017 and the Alma Cersius, Syraz/ Merlot/ Cabernet Sauvignon 2014. But let’s talk food…. Wow! The first photo is the Cosmopoon with vodka, lime, cranberry, okra and seaweed. Full of flavour! Another favorite of the evening is the mochi with feijoa and tonka bean (forgot to take a photo, because I ate it too fast). Restaurant Beulings is an intimate living room and the dishes are all prepared with love and creativity!

2. Pulitzer’s Bar: new cocktail menu / Keizersgracht 234
There is a brand new cocktail menu at Pulitzer’s Bar, inspired by Murder on the Orient Express! Try The Secretary with Earl Grey, Apéritif, Italicus, olive, bitters and soda! My favorite! The Actress is delicious too. The classy Pulitzer’s Bar is the perfect spot for a date or to start your evening. Although there is a chance that you won’t be leaving anymore…

3. Tapperij de Eeuwige Jeugd / Linnaeusstraat 37a
LOVE THIS NEW SPOT! Yes in capital letters! This brand new bar looks like your grandma’s living room. Dutch brewery De Eeuwige Jeugd opened their own bar in the East of Amsterdam. Here you can try specialty beers like a Lellebel, Bokkelul or Gladjanus while enjoying a game of darts, shuffleboarding or good old karaoke.

4. Brunch á la Tel Aviv at NENI / Stadionplein 8
NENI, located in a former Citroën garage, is now open for brunch every sunday from 11:00 untill 16:00. Try the green Shakshuka with spinach, fennel, yoghurt and fêta or the famous popcorn falafel with lemon/ ginger sauce! Yummmm! The hummus is dangerously good too….

5. Dinner or lunch at Cecconi’s / Spuistraat 210
An all-time favorite of mine! This restaurant, at Soho House, serves the best Vitello Tonnato I have EVER had! The burrata is divine and the agnolotti with black truffle is to die for. Take your time here. The bar area is lovely for a date! Don’t miss the Primitivo…

6. Edel by Dennis / Postjesweg 1
Restaurant Edel has been renewed! One of my favorite chefs in Amsterdam; Dennis Huwaë (restaurant Daalder), is now the leading man in the kitchen. That means rebellious dishes inspired by food from all over the world. New York street artist ELLE transformed the interior. I can’t wait to have dinner here! The bites I tried at the opening party were finger-licking good!
7. Pizza at Pizza Beppe / Middenweg 23
A couple of days ago I first tasted the Napolitan pizzas at Pizza Beppe at the Middenweg in the East of Amsterdam. There are 3 locations of this restaurant in the city. Pizza Beppe is the first pizza place in Amsterdam to receive the official collective trade mark by “Associazione Verace Pizza Napolitana” for their true Napolitan pizzas. DELICIOUS! The crust is crispy and light. It was no problem to finish the entire pizza… Loved the atmosphere inside. I’ll be back!

8. Brunch at +Factory Girl / Saenredamstraat 32
+Factory Girl opened in March in ‘de Pijp’ in Amsterdam, but I did not hear a lot about this place untill I got invited for a ‘guilt free’ brunch and LOVED IT! Owner Sofia Sözen started +Factory Girl in Berlin. The signature dish is the sweet Coco Anjéla; like a panna cotta in different flavours. You can order 1 for €6,- or a little tasting of more flavours for €9,-. My sourdough bread with avocado, mashed beet root, parmesan and a poached egg is delicious and fresh! Almost everything on the menu is available in a vegan or vegetarian version.
