1. Blancaneaux Lodge – Mount Pine Ridge
This stunning, remote resort is owned by famous film director Francis Ford Coppola. He and is daughter Sofia both have a house on the property. My cottage has divine Creole coconut cookies on the table, a shellphone to contact the reception and dangerously good Coppola wines in the minibar. From my balcony I look out over the river and the waterfall. It is not hard to understand why Hollywood celebs like to stay here. What a place!

2. Victoria House Resort & Spa – Ambergris Caye/ San Pedro
La Isla Bonita…The ultimate paradise. Madonna discovered the island in the 80’s. When you wake up in your comfortable kingsize bed in the morning, the first thing you do is jump into one of the pools or dive into the ocean.. They make the best Pina Coladas in Belize here! And belive me, I tried a lot of them during my trip!

3. Caves Branch Adventure Lodge – Cayo District
Spend the night in a treehouse with the howler monkeys! What an experience! This is not a luxury resort, but a unique stay that is focused on adventures. You can book a lot of exiting activities at the lodge, like cave tubing, ziplining and a whole lot more. I tried the hysterical Black Hole Drop: repelling 300ft down into the jungle! Loved it!

All the cabanas are comfortable and fully equipped. The love is in the details! The decoration of this place is beautiful. Use of paddle boards, tubes, bikes and even a mobile phone is complimentary! What a service.

Copal Tree Lodge | The Best Hotels in Belize

6. Copal Tree Lodge – Punta Gorda
In the heart of the jungle in the South of Belize you find the stunning Copal Tree Lodge, formerly known as the Belcampo Lodge. The shower has a large glass window from where you can spot howler monkeys swinging by! Such a unique experience. They produce chocolate and coffee on the property. The menu is based on the ‘farm to table’ concept and most of the ingredients are produced here! I would highly recommend a kayak excursion.

7. Turtle Inn –  Placencia
Another beautiful resort owned by Francis Ford Coppola. This man knows what he is doing.. Both him and Sofia own a house here and I can see why. Wow! James Franco & Reese Witherspoon like to come over. I spend my time by one of the pools and the ocean, while I enjoy a tasty lobster ceviche. My cottage is a Balinese dream. Very Instagrammable;-)
